Course Catalog Description
“We are excited to announce our upcoming training, Exploring Intersectionality: A Deep Dive into Identity and Workplace Dynamics, led by Dejamarie Crozier, Adult Protection Services Social Worker IV. Throughout her career, Dejamarie has consistently applied intersectionality as a guiding framework—whether conducting research, analyzing societal issues, or advocating for systemic change. From her work in local government planning the R.E.A.C.H. Ashland Youth Center, to her research on government effectiveness and poverty, and her participation in the National Model United Nations, she has used intersectionality to uncover the complex, layered identities and power structures that shape our world.

Beyond Bias
This training addresses longstanding disparities in health outcomes for marginalized populations by equipping healthcare professionals with the tools to identify and reduce implicit bias. Grounded in social work values, the project emphasizes culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and equity-centered training. The framework incorporates the concept of intersectionality while recognizing how race, gender, socioeconomic status, ability, and other identities intersect to shape individual experiences and systemic inequities (Crenshaw, 1991).
