About GT Air Company

Focus
GT Air Company makes air inlet systems for gas turbines, compressors and high-energy machinery work seamlessly.
We are consortium of organizations and professional individuals who provide seasoned input on the mechanical condition and operational effectiveness of your air inlet assets, how to extend the life of those assets, and how to improve performance.
Our people have been around gas turbines for most of their working lives and most importantly they deeply understand and embrace the meanings of:
- Service
- Responsiveness
- Commitment
- Quality
Performance improvements and operating life extensions are our specialty.
In some cases, remediation or retro-fit may be required in which case we have the people, experience and resources to design, fit, fabricate and install your upgraded asset.

Industry Background
Gas turbine operators in the gas pipeline and power generation industries have operated their equipment reliably and safely for more than 50 years.
In North America, the operational fleet of gas turbines has an AVERAGE age of >20 years which means that although the rotating equipment has experienced upgrades and overhauls, the air intakes supplying those well-cared for turbines probably haven’t seen much attention.
Tighter environmental regulations and diminished operating margins dictate that operators look for additional ways to incrementally improve the efficiency of their equipment and air inlets are an important but often overlooked opportunity.
Most importantly, your skilled labor resources need to focus on the more highly technical site issues rather than the air inlets (which is why the inlets receive less care and attention in the first place).

Operators' Experience & Operational Issues
Air inlet OEMs have understandably provided standardized, cookie-cutter, out of the box solutions to the Gas Turbine OEMs for many years. Your operational experience has probably exposed some deficiencies or flaws in the original designs.
For example, pulse air systems (also known as Huff ‘n’ Puff) provided in most cold or dusty environments are inoperative. When we visit sites, they are often disabled, or functionally ineffective.
The impact is that dust cake buildup, snow ingestion or the formation of hoar frost diminishes your operational capability.
